Who we are

The web site address for BibleBridge: Bible Study Lessons is https://www.bible-bridge.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

This is a WordPress site. By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Comments are held in a moderation queue. Approved comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely or until the person who commented requests for them to be removed. Comments are retained because they add something of value to the blog post in question.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Subscribing

If you have subscribed to email updates, you may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. You may also do so by contacting us via the email address—biblebridge@gmail.com:

Do you share the information with other parties?

No, although we do use some WordPress plugins on this website that may pass data, including personal information, to external servers to process, such as Akismet Anti-Spam or Jetpack by WordPress.com. We only use WordPress plugins and themes that are hosted by WordPress.org. WordPress.org’s guidelines clearly prohibit tracking users without their explicit informed consent.

Cookies

Visitors have the option of accepting or rejecting cookies from BibleBridge. A cookie is a small piece of data that is sent to your computer from a website, enabling the website to give you a better browsing experience. For example, if you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name and email address in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. Cookies from BibleBridge are sent to expire after one month.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. For example, this site embeds content from YouTube, which contains the following privacy terms and conditions.

Purchasing

This site includes links to sites where BibleBridge courses can be purchased, namely Gumroad and Amazon. To purchase from Gumroad and/or Amazon, you must provide your contact information (name, shipping address, etc.) and financial information (credit card number, expiration date, etc.). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. Here is the link to Gumroad’s privacy policy and Amazon’s privacy policy.

Analytics

This site uses the Jetpack plugin, which uses the following data:

  • IP address,
  • WordPress.com user ID (if logged in),
  • WordPress.com username (if logged in),
  • user agent,
  • visiting URL,
  • referring URL,
  • timestamp of event,
  • browser language,
  • country code.

However, the site owner does not have access to any of this information via this feature. For example, a site owner can see that a specific post has 285 views, but he/she cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs — containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature.

Post and page views, video plays (if videos are hosted by WordPress.com), outbound link clicks, referring URLs and search engine terms, and country. When this module is enabled, Jetpack also tracks performance on each page load that includes the Javascript file used for tracking stats. This is exclusively for aggregate performance tracking across Jetpack sites in order to make sure that our plugin and code is not causing performance issues. This includes the tracking of page load times and resource loading duration (image files, Javascript files, CSS files, etc.). The site owner has the ability to force this feature to honor DNT settings of visitors. By default, DNT is currently not honored.

This site is also connected to Google Analytics. The Google Analytics data has been set to a storage period of 14 months. This site has anonymized the Google Analytics data so IP addresses cannot be seen by the site owner. For the privacy and data collection policies of Google Analytics see here.

How long we retain your data

Unless you request your data to be deleted, a comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have subscribed to this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information

If you have any concerns about your data related to this site, please contact Les Bridgeman at biblebridge@gmail.com.
